About

  • Primary concern is that property taxes remain at or below their current levels.  A small increase here or there won’t seem like much to some, but to our most vulnerable residents, like seniors on fixed income, any increase can mean the difference between keeping their home or being forced to sell.
  • Installed robust spending controls via a procurement policy that requires bidding for projects and items at levels well below those mandated by State law.
  • Ensured survival of the Madison Meadows Golf Course for the next forty years.
  • Reduced the wait time for essential County services like addressing from a period of years down to a few weeks.
  • Worked with our Treasurer and County Attorney’s office to secure the County’s first ever credit rating of AA placing us on equal footing with the nation of Finland.
  • Believes that the County should plan ahead and save for capital expenses instead of borrowing for predictable expenditures like bridge replacements.
  • Working with BSOA to consolidate rural improvement districts in Big Sky to reduce costs and remove administrative burden.
  • Committed to ensuring that the County government lives within its means instead of continually spending just because we may have some money today.
  • Dedicated to helping the County help itself provide services to improve quality of life without ongoing financial commitments.  County government can utilize grants to amplify the effect of philanthropic dollars to obtain what we need without raising taxes.
  • Concerned about holes in our criminal justice system, namely the absence of a County Detention Center.  Saving over the next decade for the construction of such a facility will prevent tax increases.
