Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Now in its updated Third Edition, BRS Pathology is an excellent preparatory review for course exams or the USMLE Step 1. Chapters parallel most standard pathology texts and each chapter ends with a review test. Topics covered include general and basic pathology, major concepts of disease processes, and systemic pathology surveying principal disorders of each organ system. A comprehensive examination at the end of the book contains 500 USMLE-format questions. USMLE questions have all been updated to current USMLE format. The text is written in outline format for effective review. Icons indicate high-yield information that correlates with key pathology concepts.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Terrific book!   November 10, 2008
New version of the path BRS is terrific. Distills the essentials of pathology into a concise, easy-to-read book, with test yourself questions & explanations at the end of each chapter.

Think it's best used if read before & after your course materials (lectures handouts, Robbins, etc). But having this book will ensure you are learning what you must know about pathology. Plus, it will then serve as a great refresher when studying for Step 1.

4 out of 5 stars pretty good   October 12, 2008
Add notes to this book as you're going through Organ Systems courses and this will help significantly with review...

This book is a no nonsense review of path. Sure it lacks illustrations, but it's well organized and covers the high yield stuff for step I.

5 out of 5 stars High yield pathology review   June 8, 2008

This is an excellent review for both a pathology course and for studying for USMLE Step I. Its main weakness is that it doesn't include very many images, so you need an atlas of some sort as a companion. I used an image bank my school provided and this book alone to study for pathology on Step I, and I did extremely well.

2 out of 5 stars Too poor   June 2, 2008
I am reading Robbin's and Cotran:Pathologic basis of desease:it is too long and I spend too much time to prepare for Usmle 1,but BRS Pathology is too poor. This book needs to be doubled:so it will became enough for that examination and near you must add an atlas,a colour atlas,to see what the student is are studying.Excuse me for my poor english.By.
